Before you commit to any purchase or action, always ask, "Why should we do this?".

Hint: It should lead to an outcome, with a high probability, that gives you 'more time', lowers your 'cost', and enhances the 'quality of your life'. If not, don't bother.

The real challenge, is to decide on the acceptable threshold of gains or savings. For us, that magic number is 20%. Anything less, and we don't proceed. We're not perfect, but this is a system that has truly benefited us throughout our marriage.
